The latest XC90 receives a redesigned dashboard centred around a larger 11.2-INCH portrait touchscreen.

A separate 12.3-INCH digital driver display sits directly ahead of the driver.

Grey Ash decorative trim, premium soft-touch surfaces and restrained Scandinavian styling create a considerably more understated atmosphere than many screen-heavy luxury SUVs.

The centre console features Volvo’s distinctive Orrefors crystal gear selector, physical volume control and additional storage.

At RM434,888 OTR without insurance, the T8 costs only RM16,000 more than the XC90 Ultra B5 mild hybrid while adding substantially greater performance and meaningful plug-in capability.

Its main weaknesses are the relatively modest 6.4 KW AC charging rate and lack of DC charging, but for owners able to charge regularly at home, the combination of seven seats, 77 KM EV capability, 709 NM and Volvo’s extensive safety technology makes the XC90 T8 a particularly versatile luxury PHEV.
