Audi e-tron GT

The Audi e-tron GT is a fully electric four-door grand tourer built on the J1 performance EV platform shared with the Porsche Taycan, combining low-slung sports-car proportions with everyday four-seat-plus practicality.

The latest Malaysian specification is the e-tron GT quattro Dynamic Package, with Audi Malaysia’s latest official price list placing it at RM399,990 retail, or RM400,790 on-the-road without insurance under the previous EV road-tax-exempt schedule.

Its dual-motor electric drivetrain produces 350 KW (469 HP) and 630 NM, increasing temporarily to 390 KW (523 HP) and 640 NM in Boost Mode. A 93.4 KWH gross lithium-ion battery provides up to approximately 502 KM WLTP range.

The newer second-generation facelifted e-tron GT introduced overseas has not replaced this Malaysian-market version.

The cabin adopts a more conventional driver-focused Audi layout than many minimalist EVs.

A 12.3-INCH Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus sits directly ahead of the driver, while a 10.1-INCH MMI touchscreen is integrated into the centre dashboard.

Unlike newer touchscreen-heavy cabins, physical climate controls remain below the central display.

The 12.3-INCH Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus provides a fully configurable digital instrument display.

It presents speed, navigation, battery level, remaining range, drivetrain information and driver-assistance status.

The Dynamic Package additionally receives a Head-Up Display, projecting important driving information onto the windscreen.

The Dynamic Package receives electrically adjustable front Sports Seats Pro.

The driver’s seat includes memory functionality.

Upholstery combines perforated leather with fine Nappa leather and Dinamica microfibre interior elements, complemented by honeycomb-pattern stitching.

The sculpted seats provide strong lateral support without compromising long-distance comfort.

The e-tron GT accommodates five occupants, although its low roofline means the rear is best suited to two adults.

The 2,900 MM wheelbase provides good rear legroom, but rear headroom is more restricted for taller passengers because of the strongly sloping roof.

A dedicated battery recess beneath the rear footwells helps improve seating comfort despite the low vehicle height.

A three-spoke flat-bottomed sports contour multifunction steering wheel is wrapped in leather.

Integrated controls provide access to audio, digital instrumentation and driver-assistance functions.

Paddles behind the wheel allow regenerative braking settings to be adjusted.

Both tilt and telescopic steering-column adjustment are provided.

Cabin storage includes a glove compartment, door pockets, centre-console compartments and smaller storage areas for mobile devices and personal belongings.

Its low sports-car packaging means interior storage is less generous than in an electric SUV.

Audi Malaysia’s latest Dynamic Package specification lists approximately 350 L of rear luggage capacity.

A further 81 L front luggage compartment beneath the bonnet provides useful additional storage for charging cables or smaller bags.

The low boot opening and fastback body favour touring luggage rather than bulky cargo.

The e-tron GT measures 4,989 MM long, 1,964 MM wide and 1,413 MM tall, with a 2,900 MM wheelbase.

Kerb weight stands at approximately 2,200 KG.

Its extremely low roofline and wide stance give the car genuine sports-car proportions despite providing four doors and seating for five occupants.

The front features Audi’s distinctive Singleframe grille, largely enclosed because the electric drivetrain requires significantly less cooling than a combustion-powered model.

Large air channels at either side of the bumper actively manage airflow around the wheels, while cooling shutters can open or close according to thermal requirements.

The Dynamic Package adds the Black Appearance Package Plus, giving the front a substantially darker and more aggressive presentation.

The rear features broad shoulders, a heavily tapered roofline and a wide full-width lighting treatment.

An electrically deployable rear spoiler automatically adjusts according to vehicle speed, providing different aerodynamic configurations for efficiency and high-speed stability.

A large conventional boot opening provides access to the rear luggage compartment.

The Dynamic Package features Matrix LED headlamps with Audi Laser Light.

Individual lighting elements allow the system to adapt its beam around surrounding vehicles while maintaining strong forward illumination.

Dynamic front lighting animations and LED daytime running lights reinforce the e-tron GT’s distinctive appearance after dark.

Full-LED rear combination lamps are joined by a continuous light bar extending across the vehicle.

Dynamic turn indicators provide Audi’s familiar sweeping illumination effect.

Animated coming-home and leaving-home lighting sequences are also included.

The Malaysian e-tron GT quattro rides on 20-INCH black five-spoke aerodynamic module-style alloy wheels.

Tyres measure approximately 245/45 R20 at both the front and rear.

The wheel design combines aerodynamic efficiency with sufficient brake cooling for the high-performance drivetrain.

The 10.1-INCH MMI Navigation Plus touchscreen provides the main infotainment interface.

Functions include Audi Connect Navigation & Infotainment, Bluetooth and Audi Smartphone Interface.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported.

The system can also display charging locations and incorporate charging stops into navigation planning.

The e-tron GT features dual-motor electric quattro all-wheel drive.

The electronic system continuously varies torque between the front and rear axles according to traction, acceleration demand and efficiency requirements.

Torque distribution reacts considerably faster than a conventional mechanical AWD system.

As a fully electric vehicle, the e-tron GT consumes no petrol or diesel.

Its battery has approximately 93.4 KWH gross capacity and around 83.7 KWH usable capacity, with Audi Malaysia’s latest specification quoting up to 502 KM WLTP range.

Official combined energy consumption is approximately 21.6 KWH/100 KM.

The e-tron GT uses an advanced 800-VOLT electrical architecture, allowing maximum DC charging of 270 KW.

Under suitable conditions, the battery can recharge from approximately 5-80% in around 22.5 minutes, while roughly five minutes of high-power charging can add around 100 KM of range.

The Dynamic Package receives an upgraded 22 KW AC onboard charger, reducing a full AC recharge to approximately four to five hours under ideal three-phase conditions.

The Audi e-tron GT quattro Dynamic Package remains one of Audi’s most visually striking electric models and successfully combines supercar-like proportions with genuine long-distance grand-touring usability.

Its 469 HP and 630 NM dual-motor drivetrain increases temporarily to 523 HP and 640 NM under Boost Mode, allowing 0-100 KM/H in just 4.1 seconds.

The 93.4 KWH battery, up to 502 KM WLTP range and 270 KW DC charging remain respectable, while the 800-VOLT architecture allows charging performance that still compares favourably with many newer EVs.

The Dynamic Package also brings particularly desirable equipment including Matrix LED headlamps with Laser Light, carbon-fibre roof, tungsten-carbide-coated brakes, Head-Up Display, Bang & Olufsen 3D audio and 22 KW AC charging.

Its latest Malaysian retail price of RM399,990 represents a dramatic reduction from its original launch pricing and significantly improves its value proposition. However, the locally sold car remains the original-generation model rather than the substantially upgraded facelift now available overseas.
