The summonses date back as far as 2023, with JPJ now giving the affected operators a final 14-day window to settle them before tougher action follows.
What Happens After The 14 Days?
This is where things get serious.
Aedy Fadly said that once the notice period expires, JPJ will work with the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) to suspend the operating permits of companies that still fail to settle their summonses.
And if affected vehicles are found operating on the road, JPJ says they can be detained and impounded until the outstanding summonses are settled.

For bus companies, Cepat Express topped the list with 199 outstanding summonses, followed by GJG Travel & Tours with 108.
Why Is JPJ Taking A Harder Line Now?
According to Aedy Fadly, some of the companies had already received notices and reminders but still failed to settle their summonses.
He said some operators claimed they were too busy or simply forgot, while others continued to ignore payment despite repeated reminders.
That explains why the next step is no longer just another reminder.
