"These summonses to foreign drivers are part of the 165,553 summonses JPJ issued through nationwide integrated operations during the celebrations," he told reporters after an operation at the Skudai Toll Plaza last night.

Furthermore, 33 drivers, including those operating public vehicles, were detained this month after testing positive for drugs such as methamphetamine, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), cannabis, and opiates during urine screenings.

Meanwhile, Lokman reported an increase in fatal accidents last year compared to 2022, with 6,344 victims versus 6,080. "This represents an 8% increase. Of the 6,344 victims, approximately 4,000 were motorcyclists.

"On average, one fatal accident occurred every two hours," he said.
