Hunt by Penang Cops: A Toyota Corolla Driver Escaped After Involved in Car Accident

A Toyota Corolla driver who ran away after an accident in Persiaran Bukit Jambul is hunted by Penang's police officers. 

Northeast police chief Assistant Commissioner Soffian Santong has confirmed that the incident happened around 8.48 am at Persiaran Bukit Jambul 5, involving a Toyota Corolla and Perodua Alza. 

"The accident happened when the Perodua Alza stopped at a junction to make a turn. Toyota Corolla driver surpassed from the right (behind Perodua Alza) on a double line and drove against the traffic flow," he said. 

The Toyota Corolla driver re-entered into his original lane when he saw a car in the other direction resulting Toyota Corolla driver rear-ended the Perodua Alza on that instance, 

After Perodua Alza tried talking to the driver, he refused to cooperate and escaped from the scene.

Perodua Alza driver came to Northeast police headquarters Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department to lodge a police report. 

Soffian said the driver of the Toyota Corolla did not come forward to lodge a police report.

The incident is being investigated under the Road Traffic Rules 1959 to trace the escaped Toyota Corolla driver.
